Where the major parties stand on education funding
Around 1 in 5 children have some sort of special need in the classroom. We simply cannot deliver the outcomes every student needs without the resources to do that.
We already know how we can fix this: Gonski needs-based funding.
Gonski’s model of funding education on the basis of individual student need goes beyond school sector, geography or social status. Gonski funding is fair and equitable.
But not every party is committed to providing full Gonski funding to our schools – and if we don’t get it, Victorian students stand to lose $960 million in 2018 and 2019 alone.
It’s not right so many of our children miss out.
This Saturday, you have the power to keep education front and centre and vote for a party that is fully committed to Gonski needs-based funding.
